AUDITIONS

Broadway Rose Theatre auditions for the musicals The King and I, A Chorus Line and children’s productions Aladdin & Cinderella are by appointment only and will be:

• The King and I
Saturday, March 6 held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11305 SW Bull Mountain Road in Tigard (corner of Bull Mountain Rd. and Hwy 99 in Tigard).
10am-11am: Children (King’s Children), non-speaking, ages 4-12 (Children auditioning for the King’s children do not have to prepare a song, just bring recent photo and resume,and be prepared for movement. Kids will audition with 15-20 others in 15 minute increments.)
11:30am – 12pm: Louis & King’s oldest son, boys age 12 - 15 (please see “Note for all auditions” at bottom for what to bring and prepare)
12:15 – 5pm: General auditions for adult roles. All audition slots for adult roles on Saturday have been filled.

Additional auditions for adult roles on Monday, March 8 from 7-10pm, held at Broadway Rose’s New Stage, 12850 SW Grant Avenue in Tigard.

o There will not be a dance portion at the The King and I initial auditions.
o The role of the King has been cast.

The King and I runs July 1 – 25. Rehearsals: 5/26-28, 6/1-3, 6/8–30, Tues – Fri 6-10pm., Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 1-10pm. Directed by Robert Hunt, musical direction by Alan D. Lytle, choreography by Amy Beth Frankel.

• A Chorus Line
Sunday, March 7 at Broadway Rose’s New Stage, 12850 SW Grant Avenue in Tigard.
5 pm – 7 pm Dance Audition. Auditioners should wear dance clothes and shoes, and may be asked to stay for the remainder of the evening’s auditions to sing their prepared 32 bars and read from sides provided. Some auditioners will be eliminated in the dance portion of the auditions.
7 pm – 8:30 pm Singing, see above
8:30 pm – 10 pm Read prepared sides, see above

A Chorus Line runs August 4 – 22. Rehearsals: 6/30-7/2, 7/6–8/3, Tues – Fri 6-10pm., Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 1-10pm. Directed and choreographed by Keith Cromwell, musical direction by Tracey Edson. All roles open.

• Aladdin & Cinderella
Saturday, March 6: 12:15 – 5pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11305 SW Bull Mountain Rd, Tigard (corner of Bull Mountain Rd. and Hwy 99 in Tigard). All audition slots have been filled.

Monday, March 8 from 7-10pm, held at Broadway Rose’s New Stage, 12850 SW Grant Avenue in Tigard.

o These will be singing auditions only, no dance or readings.

All roles available. Must be available for daytime rehearsals and performances.

Aladdin runs July 14 – 17. Rehearsals: 6/28 – 7/13, Mon – Sat 10am-2pm.
Cinderella runs August 18 - 21. Rehearsals: 8/2 – 17, Mon – Sat 10am-2pm.
Aladdin & Cinderella will be directed by Karen Boettcher-Tate. All roles open.

Please call Emma at 503-906-2378 for an appointment. Callbacks will be at the discretion of the directors and will be held March 13 and 14. The Broadway Rose hires Equity Guest Artists and Non-Equity performers.

Note for all auditions:
▪ Please prepare 32 bars. Song must be memorized. Bring sheet music in your own key (music will not be transposed). Accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to sing a second song if requested. No taped or a cappella music. Children auditioning for the King’s children (non-speaking roles) do not need to prepare a song.
▪ 18 years old and older please (except kids parts in The King and I)
▪ All ethnicities encouraged.
▪ Please bring a current non-returnable photo and resume.
▪ Please bring your calendar to list your conflicts.
▪ Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled slot to give yourself time to complete the audition form.
